So I have an evil virus on my computer! I don't know what it is, but I guess it's really smart. It knows all the anti-virus software and websites and won't let me go to them or use any anti-virus software. It wont let me use google to search for anything. When I click on a result it just opens a different page that isn't what I clicked. I have AVG free 8.0 but I can't use it, of course. The only thing I got to work was ad-aware and It found stuff and I removed it but I guess it just re spawned or something. I can only run my computer in safe mode and system restore is disabled. It really just won't let me get rid of it and I don't know what to do!

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well, like I said before I can't run any antivirus, online or off line. When I click on the links you gave me it says page connection error, I can use any other websites but when it comes to anything antivirus related I guess it knows and wont let me go to those sites.

So somehow I got to install and run Antivirus 2009 and I will post the report from that here. Of course you can't remove anything without paying. I would prefer not to have to pay because I'm afraid if I type my credit card number the virus might steal it.

UPDATE: So apparently antivirus 2009 is just another virus/scam thing...figures. How am I supposed to fix my computer if every legit antivirus program and website is blocked/disabled?Huh?? this is ridiculous!!!!

Hi again Rendlog82.

Yes you got a right, Antivirus 2009 is a new threat that comes under the guise of a genuine antivirus program. Last days we have a lot of members infected with this malware. You can find more information at this old post: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,2021.0.html

But anyway don't worry we will together resolve this. Police

Is't possible to at least download and run Hijack This (for good cleaning we need log from them)??

As you said, never provide that kind of information on infected PC.

dude if you have time look for any windows live cd, then download mcafee scangui and superdat, extract the superdat and place the extracted files inside the mcafee scangui folder then add it to the windows live cd, then boot it, run mcafee scangui, it'll help you a lot.

Get SpyBot from download.com and see if that works.
