Anyone seen this error in task scheduler for tasks.  Does not let me do anything with it or show up.  I think I might have to go in the registry to remove it.

My suggestion is to first use CCleaner and after that provide us logs from Kaspersky and HJT (for the case that reason for this is some "infection")

- Kaspersky Online AntiVirus Scan: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,734.0.html

This is just a normal message error in which the program(Task Scheduler) cannot be accessed and run accordingly by a "Normal" user account that has no privilege unless you are true admin logged into the system -- "Windows Built-in Admin."

This was created with my admin account under, and I have admin rights.  This task was set only to run when the user logs in and locks the box, and it works like champ and also the task was "hidden".  When I go to view hidden tasks that message pops up, I did a search in the registry and found it, is it safe to delete it from there?

Also output from schtasks from command line.

ERROR: Task cannot be loaded:

Task Scheduler runs as a system service and requires administrator priviledge to run at the designated time.(or the ability to logon as a service or similar)
To run tasks automatically and set them up as a domain administrator. They run in the background and the workstation users will not see them.If you set them up using the administrator account of the local machine you will not necessarily have access to any domain shares or servers and so they stall.

This may help also: UAC: Local Admin vs. Domain Admin http://vistavitals.blogspot.com/2008/01/uac-local-admin-vs-domain-admin.html

As defined Task Scheduler or MSTASK runs as a service, you can actually assign run or disable  to which user profile as defined in the Service Console.

The task schedule is a saved script file (.job), I believe deleting it in the registry will have no effect on the job.

BTW, what is the OS in concern?

Vista is my OS.  And when I say hidden, I specifically chose the option for the task to be hidden so you have to go to view and show hidden tasks for it to show up.  I will do a search from *.job files.

Actually, the error popped specifying that the scheduled tasks is trying to use a username that doesn't have sufficient rights. Same thing happens when you want to delete some sche'd task.

Well, Vista is a junk scrap.

Anyway here's a screencap:

Possible Solution:
If RUN Whether User is Logged on or not option is used
>>>Check the box on Do Not Store Password
>>>Check Run at Highest Privileges
>>>Make sure you got sufficient Admin rights for what your tasking.

Ahh but see my error is strange one.. It is not even listed in task scheduler interface period.. Like it does not exist, and when I click on view hidden tasks, thats when it pops up with that error message I posted.  SO I can't go in and configure it, that is why I was wondering if the deleting from the registry is my last resort.

Its fine the way it is now the process runs and it works like a champ but its annoying every time I go into task scheduler.
