I think if you are running a MS OS then MSVS is the best, but I have seen a few instances where VMWare was better for a few flavors of Linux.

Has anyone tried Virtualbox by Sun? I have and it's good. Only a few things that it doesn't do but runs a bit better than VMWare.

I have used both, I like VMWare better, but only the paid version, if you are using the free version then the MS is better.  Also depending on what you are doing with them makes a difference as well.  Since I am running multi-linux servers, VMWare is a much better product.  So in the end, I think go with the one that seems the easiest for you to use and have fun.  Both will do the job you need them to do.  And by the way VMWare has been doing this longer the Microsoft.

I am using VMWare Server which is the free version, it took a while to get it working, something with localhost stuff.
But it is great, major bonuses over MS stuff is the vast support for unix/linux flavors, USB drive support, and a whopping 8MB VGA emulator Cheesy

for those who dont know what that adds to the package, well it makes playing wolf3d, doom, doomII great fun hehehehe

so I am for VMWare Server

VMware is better.. hands down, i've been using it for years, i'm also using MS VPC for studying virus infections and removal.
