Fellow SCForum,

I had a problem on my computer. The problem is, everytime i turned on my PC it always asked for a BIOS setup setting. I already change the internal battery to a new one but still it asked for a BIOS setting. What seems to be the problem, need your help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Jake!

Have the same problem with my old rig with an ASUS mobo, BIOS frequently resets and posts an error message "Overclocking Fail!" which I do not usually do -- Overclocking.  Are you also running with an ASUS mobo? Because this is a common problem with ASUS nowadays which it detects wrong frequencies or high voltages causing BIOS resets.

Battery is no problem, try two things: (1) clean up your PC inside and out from dusts, incl Power Supply, (2) try replacing your PSU (power output inconsistency from power supply may possibly reset your BIOS).

Regards,

GC

Check to see if the bios battery needs to be replaced.

Make sure that you do not have a virus I had a virus that set a password to the bios ... see if you have the same status without the HD connected and after a bios reset
if the problem is there update the bios
