I'm a Mcafee fan too, been using it since VSE 4.5 on Windows 98 :p

The only thing I'm gonna miss is Webimmune, I remember getting an extra.dat fro there once to stop a trojan....

Yeah Webimmune... now official page: http://www.webimmune.net/ point to this one "McAfee Labs WebImmune has reached End of Life": https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB71637

But it look that this page is still live... ;) : https://www.webimmune.net/extra/getextra.aspx

Welcome to the McAfee AvertĀ® Labs extra.dat request page where you can enter a detection name that has been supplied by McAfee AvertĀ® Labs or McAfee Support and receive an extra.dat. When used in conjunction with a supported McAfee virus scanning product and the current scan engine, this extra.dat file provides detection, and in many cases removal, prior to the release of supportive Daily DAT files.

Thank yous guys.. seems the problem is no more occurring.
I did not wanted to switch to another antivirus as my friend suggested coz mcafee has been my support for more than 3 years now.
Thank you.

You welcome pal.

Just like me, I'm really big McAfee fan... mostly because of perpetual license for VSE. No worries about licenses, keys... and of course very good protection. ;)

Cheers!

open virus scan consol==>On-access scanner properties===>  blocking
Uncheck block

But this option is to block the connection when a threat is detected in shared folder. Does this apply to a WiFi network?
I have no shared folders on my PC.

Hello,

I have been using McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.8 since a few years and never had a problem with it, until now!
Well I bought this wireless router to connect to internet using modem for my laptop and smartphone. But now every time i switch on the WiFi, i loose the connectivity after about 5 mins.
This may seem to be a network configuration problem or a router problem. But believe me i have everything setup right.
Recently i discovered that when i disable the "Access Protection" in Virusscan Console, i have no problem with the WiFi connection. After enabling the Access Protection, i again loose the WiFi connection.

I have no IPS or IDS or Firewall install.
Using McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.8 with no patches.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks
