Hi Charles & Welcome to SCforum Community. 8)

Try on this way:

Within the 3rd party program scanning options choose avgw.exe with /SE parameter (avgw.exe /SE) as the internal antivirus scanner. Avgw.exe file is located in the AVGFree Edition directory – usually C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free directory on your hard drive. If you would like to use AVG Free Edition for checking files in WinZip archived files, it is necessary to use the following configuration parameters within WinZip, as shown below:

WinZip->Options->Configuration->Program Locations
Scan program:
Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free\avgw.exe

Parameters:
/SE %d

WinZip is here only for example, you will need to search/explore for FlashGet similar properties.

Anyway, did you already try IDM ( Internet Download Manager - www.internetdownloadmanager.com (http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com) ) it's work better than FG (my opinion)?

Post by: arith on 27. February 2011., 06:09:13: I have read that AVG is one of the best antivirus softwares but is it heavier than Avast. I have been using Avast for quite some while now and it has slowed down the internet connection a bit. Does AVG do this?

Its Email Scanner prevents the arrangement to get adulterated with any malware absorbed in email messages. In adjustment to assure the computer while browsing the web; it uses a LinkScanner. which scans every link in order to prevent infections.
