thanks for the help - i am not near that computer right now as i am at work - i was getting the same thing with firefox - so this morning i updated firefox thinking that might be a solution as i was using an old version.

anyway before i left the internet wasn't working on firefox, and i couldn't find the internet explorer for IE8

when i get home i will keep trying - i have scanned my computer with malwarebytes - and everytime it shows 1 infected threat - it was a root threat - i would delete it, but it always came back.

so last night i powered the computer up in safe mode and delected it in safe mode - the virus was gone - but i still couldn't log into any of my bank accts or financial things. that's when i tried to update firefox

thanks ed

Hi E. and Welcome to SCF Community.

Don't worry, We'll help you to resolve this problem.  ;)

First of all, take advice from J. and try some other browser on mentioned sites, for example: Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari etc. and provide us information do you still have problem with access... ?

After that, my suggestion is to make double check is your PC really safe now:

1. Scan your PC with BitDefender or Panda Online AntiVirus Scan: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,734.0.html

2. Download & run HijackThis: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,785.0.html

3. Provide us logs from HijackThis & AntiVirus Online Scan

We'll wait your reply (with logs) and after analyzing, provide you new instructions.

Regards,

Samker

Can't you use other browser?

my bother got a internet security pro virus - while i was looking for it i think i changed something in my settings that doesn't allow my passwords and usernames to work on my bank sites, paypal site, and credit card site.

i can access my emails with user nams and passwords - i have 2 different ones and they both work

i did find the virus and went into safe mode and deleted it as it wouldn't allow me to delete it if i wasn't in safe mode.

after deleting it i did a restore back one week and updated malwarebytes and did a scan

i can use the computer and everything is working except the sites i mentioned - i am pretty sure it was something i clicked before i found the virus - something like allow access - it was checked and i unchecked it - i can't seem to find or recall that. i am using IE8

thanks for any help - ed
