Vista Codec Package 4.4.8 Final

Codecs have always been a pain in the butt. This package takes from the best, all the big name creators, several small guys too, and compiles all this into a single pack. All possible conflicts are already dealt with, many user suggested default settings are implemented.

This package does not contain a media player. This package does not associates filetypes. With this package installed, you will be able to use any media player to play DVD´s, movies and video clips such as quicktime, realmedia, avi, mpeg, Flv, swf, wmv, etc. Streaming video can be played within web browsers. By default, you shouldn´t need to make any adjustments to enjoy playback immediately.

Users now have the ability to choose what is installed using the public redistributable and after an unattended install, you can select to remove specific portions without removing the entire package. Future releases will recognize previous releases and perform upgrade installations.
This package contains QuickTime v7.1.3 components with the tray icon permanently disabled.

This package currently supports 15 localized installations: The default install is English including support for the following other languages; Chinese Simplified/Traditional, Japanese, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Polish and Turkish.

changelog:
fix black+white issues with some .avi files
fix .WMV support broken in alternate players after installing WMP11
add new component, Koepi´s XviD Codec 1.1.2
update Haali components to v1.6.338.23
update FFDshow components to t494
fix Vobsub shortcut

With Vista Codec Package installed, you won't need to install any other codec or filter. Many user suggested default settings are implemented. It does not contain a media player. It does not associates filetypes. With this package installed you will be able to use any media player (limited only by the players capabilities) to play DVD's, movies and video clips of any format. Streaming video (real and quicktime) is supported in web browsers. Visit the homepage to get a 64bitAddon which enables xvid, divx and DVD playback in Vista's MediaCenter.

Hi Branden,

here you can find more information about "divocodec": http://go.divocodec.com/

But, it's look like that Codec & Player isn't safe (maybe that is some kind of Malware, as I now "googled").

I don't want to scary you but did you check that file carefully?

Samker

P.S.
We also provide here few FREE Online PC Scans like (Kaspersky, McAfee, Symantec ...) try them.
Also if you have any question more about Divocodec & Security just ask, we are to help you.

With this package installed you won't need to install any other codecs.

When dealing with codecs, more does not equal better.

Having the least amount on your system is the best configuration.

This is exactly what the Vista Codec Package does for you.

You will no longer be restricted to using a specific player.

Windows MediaPlayer and Vista MediaCenter will be able to play all your files.

Troubleshooting installation problems

VISTA USERS: please research User Account Control
Users may choose to use this program to temporarily disable UAC
and then right-click on the downloaded installer and choose 'Run as administrator'

When installing VCP you must choose the language that matches your operating system.
To solve the issue, re-install the same version that's on your system with the correct language.

To correct this issue, download and execute the latest installer and it will offer to UPGRADE your current installation.

If you . . .
- are receiving an error message about xvidcore.dll installing the current release will correct it.
- have COM_Surrogate errors, upgrade any DivX products you have with a current release. Upgrade Nero to 8.x
- installed XviD or FFDshow on your own other than the versions included in this package may also cause issues.
- have problems with the functionality one specific program, try installing it AFTER the codec package to resolve it.
