Well, usually after initialize disk you need also to format that disk. Try first connect that HDD to another computer with windows xp and see what is happens.

Hello,
If disk won't work and it does not see in the own computer, you have to go to the disk management in which it can be seen as the unlabelled and without drive letter, then U must give it name and path. This you can do with mouse rigth button.
Then you can see it with name where you just give it.(Drive letter!) if it is formated disk that work always even me! ;D Thanx

Hi E., as usual, We'll do our best to help you. ;)

For the start here is one older Topic with "similar" problem: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,3399.0.html you'll find few useful suggestions...

Another tip is to try to access that disk (and save data) on some other PC (even better if it run Linux ;) ), final suggestion is to try with Hiren Boot CD tools:

Mini XP
Volkov Commander
Total Commander
...

Let us know, did you success with mentioned suggestions?

Regards,

S.
