Antivirus AntiSpyware 2011 is a rogue anti-spyware program that displays fake scan results and alerts in order to trick you into thinking your computer is infected. This program is installed through Trojans that download and install the program on to your computer without your permission. When installed, the rogue will also create numerous files in your Windows Temp folder that will then be detected as malware when Antivirus AntiSpyware 2011 attempts to scan your computer. If you attempt to remove any of the programs it states are infections, it will state that you need to purchase the program first before it will allow you to do so. The reality is that these files are harmless, or do not even exist, and are only being shown to scare you into purchasing the program.

While running, Antivirus AntiSpyware 2011 will also display fake security alerts on your computer. These alerts are designed to make you think that you have a severe computer infection or that your computer is sending private data to a remote location.

Just like the fake scan results, the alerts and browser hijacking are fake and are only being shown to scare you into purchasing the program.

Without a doubt, this program is a scam that was developed to scare you into purchasing it. Therefore, do not purchase Antivirus AntiSpyware 2011 for any reason, and if you already have, please contact your credit card company and state that the program is a computer virus and a scam and that you would like to dispute the charge.

To remove this infection and related malware, please follow the steps in the guide below:

    1. Try to use the free, portable version of SUPERAntiSpyware to remove the viruses: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,116.0.html

    2. If that doesn’t work, reboot your PC into safe mode with networking (use F8 right before Windows starts to load), after that try again to use the free, portable version of SUPERAntiSpyware to remove the viruses.

    3. Install MalwareBytes and run it, doing a full system scan: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,2201.0.html

    4. Reboot your PC again, and run a full scan using your normal Antivirus application (if you don't have some Paid version, We recommend you some Free AV like: Avira, AVG, Avast or Panda: http://scforum.info/index.php/board,10.0.html

    5. At this point your PC is usually clean, if it's not go to SCF's "PC Help Center" and Open New Topic with Help Request: http://scforum.info/index.php/board,16.0.html
