I Hate Companies That Behave Like Control Freaks, Without Giving People More Than A Single Option ( Meaning: No Options At All ).

Damn.

I'm the Ad Muncher dev who fixed it...

Hi Jeff and Welcome to SCF Community.

Since you're Ad Muncher's official representative... from now on, you have VIP membership. ;)

---

FYI, I also have one strange problem... I'm unable to visit your site: https://www.admuncher.com/ using my Chrome browser (v. 48.0.2564.116 m).

I get this error (screenshot is below):

Quote

"A secure connection cannot be established because this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite. This is likely to be caused when the server needs RC4, which is no longer considered secure."

cya around,

Samker

P.S.

@JeffreyCole
Firefox works just fine.

... I'm wondering which ad muncher you are using... It hardly ever was able to block ads. I even have a default filter to not bother on hulu any longer... You telling me I could have been watching hulu without ads? Grmbl.

But I checked; I have latest filters and still these problems ;p Though thanks for the confirmation!

I double checked.

It's working flawlessly in opera 12.18 to remove the ads from hulu.

disable your custom list and your clear browser cache.

Hello Jeffrey! Welcome and thank you for bothering to respond! Much appreciated. Shannow already told me that 'my shit not in order was'. I'll double check stuff, just to be sure and I'll let you guys know if it works afteral.

xx

PS: for my own record: used custom filters for disabling ad-muncher on hulu:
.huluad.*.swf (Don't match against KW)
.hulu.com/published/*.mp4 (Don't match against KW)

Thanks for the heads up, however I left this browser long time ago. :-/

I use it for video related tasks, cause Chrome has to do all the hard work and has no time for my frivolous habits.

BUT the upgrade seems to introduce lots of little bugs... hulu advertisements having their own mind about volume control (can't even mute!), Ad Muncher & hulu, also not a nice combination with Opera (pausing video instead of starting ad), ... little stuff like that. And yes, everything becomes Chrome clone one way or another. Even Edge is going to use Chrome extension technology. Sad part is... Google also started a silent war on everything it considers 'bad behaviour' (regarding your OS: installing helper programs, even offering them gets you a google download ban; websites with fake download buttons... Bye bye. Java? Silverlight? Flash? Bye bye). The end result: not one browser that you can use for everything you want. Some sites don't work any longer, others work in 1 browser but not the other. To my shock, in 2016 with Windows 10, I have to start Internet Explorer more and more... It's slowly becoming the all-round to go to browser, until the dust has settled and everybody updated their website tech (which they don't). I don't like that one bit.

;-( sad, I'm still contemplating to one day leave the internet behind for good... One day I tell ya'!

Grab the latest filter list update for Ad Muncher. the pause you mention is fixed and the ads are removed again.

OPERA15- Is Still Used, And Many Consider It The Best Browser Ever.

Bugs Are Expected Because The Previous Release Was Somewhat, 2 Years Ago ?

---

That Is Why I Use 5 Browsers.

---

GOOGLE Is Growing On My Nerves Too:

A - Unlike ( Some ) YANDEX Behavior, If An Extension Is Not In Their Store It Is Completely Blocked,

At Least, YANDEX Gives You A Warning, But Some Extensions Are Allowed To Install,

OPERA15+ Is The Most Liberal Of All - Almost All Extensions Are Compatible And Can Be Installed - And That Is Why It Is My Main And Also Favorite CHROME Clone Browser,

Any Browser That Does Not Give Power Users ( I Consider Myself One ) Options About Extensions Will Never Be My Main One,

---

B - Unlike FF, CHROME Clones Have Started A War Against Sites With HTTPS Issues, Blocking Them Completely,

Warn Me About Safety Issues, But Give Me An Option To Carry On And Let Me Be Responsible For My Own Freaking Browsing.

---

End Of Rant.

OPERA Is A Family Of 2 Browsers With Incompatible Extensions:

A - Versions 15-, And,

B - Versions 15+.

I Use ( B ), A Browser That Is A CHROME Clone.

It Seems The First Member Of The Family Got A New Version ( 12.18 ).

Cheers.
