Re-installing Windows is actually an easy process. Although it can take time to get Windows back on your system, once it is installed you’re ready to go. However, once you’ve installed Windows, most of the installed drivers are the files that shipped with the original operating system. Surely you’d be better using the most modern and up-to-date drivers?

Driver Genius enables you to do two key functions: it will establish the hardware installed on your computer and will search the Internet for the most recent drivers, download and will install on your machine. The second key function is to backup your existing drivers. This means that if you need to re-install Windows in the future, re-install Driver Genius, find the backed up driver files, install and then boot your computer.

Driver Genius will also automatically check for new drivers. Simply subscribe to the online service and you’ll be presented with information when a new driver is released for your hardware. You can then choose to install or ignore.

This is the latest v9 which ships with Windows 7 support.
Verdict

Superb tool for keeping your system drivers up-to-date
