Laplink releases business editions of PCmover
« on: 20. May 2009., 17:04:57 »

Laplink has announced new versions of its PCmover tool for migrating users to a new PC, including editions to help businesses automate the process for employees.

PCmover enables users to migrate to a new PC running a different version of Windows, but take all their existing applications, files and configuration settings with them. The latest release of the tool was announced at the end of 2008.

Laplink has now announced immediate availability of Home, Professional, Express, Business and Enterprise editions of the software, with varying levels of functionality.

PCmover Professional is the standard edition, and is compatible with almost any version of Windows and user environment, according to Laplink, while PCmover Home is designed for families and students and carries a lower price tag.

The entry-level product is PCmover Express at $29.95 (£20), which has fewer features and is described by Laplink as "perfect for setting up a netbook".

At the higher end, PCmover Business is designed for IT consultants and business users deploying new PCs, while PCmover Enterprise enables IT staff to control and customise the migration process. The latter edition is available with volume and site licence discounts.
