Yes, this is really helpful, though we use only 2-5% of the commends in our daily life. But they can be much helpful for the programmers maybe.

Another useful key combination is the "Windows" key and "X"; this will bring up a list of several useful links, such as the "Run" command, a link to Control Panel, etc.

FROM: http://www.nirmaltv.com/2012/08/11/list-of-run-commands-in-windows-8/

Remark: Windows 8 has no Run... option or a Start menu (and Windows 7 users should first enable Run...-option with Menu Properties).

In general, Windows 8 users should first start a search for: run

The Run... command will appear! You can pin it to your task bar now or just start it... I found this information here: http://www.technoon.com/how-to-open-run-command-in-windows-8.html .

Also, Windows 8 users could use: Classic Start Menu (tip from: http://scforum.info/index.php?topic=7941.0).

Then they too will have their Run... option back (ànd a regular start menu)...

Last tip: create folder named:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

COPY-PASTE nirmaltv.com:
" Windows 8, the latest OS from Microsoft comes with many new features and improvements over Windows 7.

Run commands are commands in Windows, which allows you to quickly access features and applications which are

default in Windows.

For example, if you want to access computer management tool in Windows, instead of using the Control panel to

open it, you can use the run command compmgmt.msc and open it quickly.

These run commands are available for almost all settings available in Windows control panel.

Similar to Windows 7, here is the list of run commands for Windows 8.
