I encountered this yesterday late, suddenly.

Tried a lot of things on my android (Windows clients were fine), I gave up - frustrated.

Today, only late at night I could test again. Result? No more problems.

So my solved / fixed / solution? Either reset your router (I did not do that due to uninterrupted-internet-demand) OR wait until your lease has expired without connecting your droid with wifi (dhcp lease depends on your router settings) OR connect to Guest wifi. That one still works too - no certificate, no security.

I do  not know what caused it - I'm only happy that it works again!

Today, I have problems again with Wifi. Only my Droid :s

Connection with "Network Name': disconnected network connection. You have to login again.
(this is a rough translation. Original Dutch error: Verbinding met "Netwerk naam": De verbinding met dit netwerk is verbroken. U moet opnieuw inloggen.)

When I look at the wifi settings, "Network name" has a connection status of 'connected' and Internet actually works.

Keeping an eye on this sudden strange problem. So far, I loved Android 4.3 on my Samsung Galaxy Siii i9300.

I don't think so - it was a wifi problem, not an app problem...?

We'll see how it remains. For now, all is ok.

Yesterday I could just re-connect. Hope it will be the same today

When I go to the Wi-Fi network overview, my network has a strange detail. Where other networks show "Secured <encryption type>", MY wi-fi network shows: Login required (Dutch: "inloggen is verplicht").

When I press to connect, today it goes fine. But originally, the first day, a browser-choice window would popup and re-direct me to a custom Google search URL (defaulting to a blank search; nothing to login).

And even stranger... At night I disconnect network completely for a couple of hours (4 to 5). During the day everything stays stable. Only in the evening the problem appears. After re-connecting, the problem will re-appear. Sometimes almost instantly, sometimes it works for a while. Still, the evening remains troublesome.

Login makes no sense. It's just basic wifi router: no special functionality enabled...

Strange voodoo. I'll repost tomorrow ;p

I still haven't solved this problem.

The timing has changed. So at first I thought it was a router/dhcp problem (lease on 30 mins). But I always used those settings. Coíncidently I was also changing options on my wifi. I changed them back (channel, auto, stuff like that), but it did not change anything (nor should it).

The first certificate warning takes a while to appear. Then they slowly become more and more frequent until upto a point where I MUST connect to unprotected wifi.

Chrome on windows learned me that virii can cause strange behaviour like this.

I also have a lot of problems with the unlock screen. Often it will just not react anymore. Only a black display (and maybe a blinking led). Also my AutomateIt voices were often stuttering like the phone was under very high CPU/RAM load. I did not have these problems from the beginning but combined with the fact that the phone sometimes just reboots or needs a battery eject... Starts to sound a lot like the infamous Samsung 4.3 roll-out:

And yes, at times I also experience an EXCESSIVE battery drain. Usually I notice tthe emptied battery problem being followed by a non-responding lock screen (or reboot; or virtually non-responding).

And lastly, pressing home when (just) being locked could also be a cause instead of a symptom... :S

So things to do:
1. router reset (did not do that yet - only android has problems and my mini-mining-rigg cannot be disconnected. Maybe in 10 years or so ; -)
2. check for virii. I am currently installing al major (and unmajor) antivirus programs. I got some warnings, one or two that I could not easily explain. Of course I just removed anything I wasn't sure of. Still, the unlock problem remains - and I even unplugged the battery once more
3. new firmware. Starting the beginning of December (on Real Santa Claus Day to be exact;) Samsung has started rolling out new firmwares again (after being discontinued for a month).
BEFORE I do the new firmware, I FIRST will test by restore current system ROM. I expect it not to wipe my apps and icons (but that's a gamble I still do not fully understand;p).

So not over, not by a long shot

PS: also hinting on virus infection is the fact that I was checking and installing the November 2013 torrents for rebuilding my phone.
PS: I shortly also suspected my ADB tools (wifi && lock protector). But I used those programs almost from the beginning...
PS: Avast was installed al the way through; including Lost & Found I removed that too, but it did not change much. Also, on PC downloading torrents, Avast was active. And Zemana AntiLogger.

Sounds like a faulty stock rom... Samsung did it again.
Maybe you'll want to look at CyanogenMod official releases
