First Military Grade Encryption for Android
« on: 31. August 2012., 12:36:08 »
Mobile and network security company AuthenTec recently announced the launch of the first military grade encryption for Android. Their MatrixDAR meets the standards of FIPS 140 certification and is supposed to be one of the best forms of protection for data-at-rest (DAR) in Android devices. It enables incorporating strong encryption without damaging device performance.

As the use of mobile devices increased in business settings many companies recognized the necessity for a new level of protection. Current developments in business require improvements in the field of mobile device security and this is probably why AuthenTec decided to launch such a solution now. Its primarily aimed at business people and is supposed to provide a secure way to manage corporate documents.

AuthenTec was recently acquired by Apple for $356million. Apple's products play an important role in transition to mobile device computing and this acquisition is supposed to improve the security which was always an issue with Apple.
