I like being able to set the background color :) but the actual results returned do not seem to be the same as a "standard" google search - is there some setting that needs to be tweaked?

Steve thank you for feedback about PLAHO.
No, you don't need to tweak any settings. By default we have turned On - Safe Search which exclude some porn, suspicious & dangerous sites. ;)
If you want to test this option, for example just select Web Search instead of PLAHO.com Search - White.
By the way, what do you think about Shortcuts to most popular sites (FaceBook, MySpace etc.)??

That explains it. Perhaps (enhancement suggestion:) you could modify the cookie for PLAHO to encapsulate the Google search preferences, or (simpler, no doubt), present a "safe search off" option selection with a pull-down or button on the main PLAHO screen.
The shortcuts the the "popular sites" are of minimal importance (to me), I've already got handy bookmarks for those that I frequent.

Runs very fast , easy to use, and I agree that the color scheme is great.
Good idea to provide content filtering, only issue is using the google search engine.
Any thought ( maybe you do this already ) , to use the Scroogle concept and not allow Google to collect all of the search criteria for their personal "characterization" use ?

We don't provide any data to anybody (including Google), personally I'm always Logout from my Google account just because Privacy.
Anyway, everyone who have some Security-Internet knowledge know that with IP address and time you can't be anonymous. ;)

samker, i usually get this "cache" file if i search from google. that is, sometime google engine shows a pdf, ppt, word, excel, etc that contain the search string. however plaho seems do not hit that kind of file when i search. i wonder why?

What are Chakras?
A Chakra is like a spiral of energy, each one relating to the others. Chakra (pronounced sha-kra) is the Sanskrit word for ' wheel '. There are seven main energy centres (chakras) of the body and each is associated with a particular organ or system in the body and each chakra has a dominant color. If happens that these colors become imbalanced that can cause disease and other physical ramifications.
What is Color Therapy?
Color Therapy, sometimes called Chromotherapy or Colorology, is an alternative medicine method. It is claimed that a therapist trained in chromotherapy can use color and light to balance energy wherever a person's body be lacking, be it physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental.
The Seven Main Chakras and Seven Chakra Colours
VIOLET/PURPLE governs the CROWN chakra, at the top of the head.
BEAUTY, CREATIVITY, INSPIRATION
Related organ: brain
Endocrine gland: pineal gland.
Associated problems: depression, Parkinson's disease, Schizophrenia, Epilepsy, seniledementia, Alzheimer's, many mental disorders, confusion, and dizziness.

Green chakra relates to love/self love - the ability to give and take unconditionally. When balanced we are able to give love and also to love and nurture ourselves. Helps relax muscles, nerves, and thoughts. Cleanses and balances our energy, to give a feeling of renewal, peace and harmony. Green connects us to unconditional love and is used for balancing our whole being.

Associated problems: constipation, diarrhea, piles, colitis, Crohn's disease, cold fingers and toes, frequency of urination, hypertension (high blood pressure), kidney stones, impotence, hip problems, legs and feet. PINK can also be used here when a more gentle energy is required.
Personality Traits: Courageous, confident, humanistic, strong-willed, spontaneous, honest, and extroverted.
Red relates to self awareness. It is the area of survival and stability and your place on this earth. The colour red provides the power from the earth and gives energy on all levels. It connects us to our physical body. Everything that is to be commenced needs the life vitality of red.
