Thanks for assisting in resolving the issue. I have uninstalled, re-installed and updated my McAfee by installing first patch7, patch8 and the hot fix. Its working now. Now I am able to see McAfee icon in my system tray. Thanks again. Regards, Kiran. Posted by: Samker« on: 30. July 2009., 09:00:28 »It must be some bug (Vista-McAfee)...
Did you install Latest HotFix? Maybe that will help you. http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,3050.0.html Also try again to Unistall McAfee after that Update your Windows Vista and try again to install first Patch 7 then 8. Right now I don't have any more ideas... cya later, S. Posted by: kirangampala« on: 30. July 2009., 02:33:31 »Hi Samker,
Thanks for the update. I have uninstalled/installed McAfee VSE8.5i. I have installed patch7 and I can see McAfee icon in system tray. But after installing patch8 Mcafee icon has disappeared from system tray. Why it is so? How can I retain the McAfee icon back to system tray. All McAfee services are running. Please advice. Thanks Posted by: Samker« on: 28. July 2009., 21:40:46 »Ok Kiran,
as GeorgeC say (above) probably this problem is in compatibility... maybe with Vista SP2?. Please try again to use Repair function or Uninstall/Install your AV again. After that install first Patch 7 and then Patch 8 (I'll send you pass. for P7 via PM ). If you don't use this PC in some Corporate Network, forget about this problem with "Common Management Agent" (I have same error when use Virtual Technician ). Finally, if this doesn't help you take advice from GeorgeC and install v.8.7. Sooner or Later all SCF Members will go to newest version... Regards, S. Posted by: kirangampala« on: 28. Have you tried updating the McAfee 8.5 with the latest patch 8? In my opinion, installation of McAfee VS 8.5i in Vista have compatibility issues. Best advice is to install McAfee VS 8.7 instead. maybe some Malware (virus, worm, trojan...) was Turn-Off your protection or this is only some Windows-McAfee "bug". Please provide us: 1. Run Kaspersky or BitDefender Online AntiVirus Scan: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,734.0.html 2. Download & run HijackThis: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,785.0.html 3.
