BitMEX and OKEx are both established names in the world of cryptocurrency trading, both having built up a sizeable following of traders.

Increasingly though traders are turning off from BitMEX, which is often associated with ‘getting rekt’ ie. losing all of your initial investment, and choosing Malta-domiciled OKEx in its place.

This is for a number of reasons.

The team at OKEx has been working hard to deliver a range of services and trading options for its customers, releasing the Perpetual Swap at the tail end of 2018, which has so far accounted for $150 billion in trading volume, and giving customers the option to withdraw their investment whenever they want to, rather than just the one withdrawal per day that BitMEX offers.

Benefits

A spokesperson for OKEx set out the range of reasons traders were choosing OKEx over BitMEX, they said these included:

OKEx charges a lower taker fee than BitMEX. Take fees are paid when you remove liquidity from the order book, by charging a lower fee OKEx allows you to keep more of your investment
OKEx’s ecosystem and design means derivative to spot trades don’t require any taker fee at all on the platform, meaning more money for trading
OKEx has huge liquidity in terms of altcoins, representing the world’s biggest pool for EOS, the seventh biggest cryptocurrency by market capitalization
Withdraw when you want to with OKEx, not once per day as allowed on the BitMEX platform

“When you look at the details, there are many more reasons that traders are choosing OKEx as their platform of choice for crypto trading,” the spokesperson said.

“Our aim is to be the biggest and best exchange globally and to provide our customers with all the services they need to trade with confidence.

“However, whatever your experience always try and manage your risk and have a mitigation plan in place to reduce any financial losses.”

Based in Malta, OKEx launched in 2014.

Since then it has grown to be the world’s biggest crypto exchange and is used by millions of new and experienced crypto traders around the world.

At press time OKEx had traded $1.1 billion in adjusted volume in the past 24 hours, as reported on Coinmarketcap, nearly $100 million more than its closest rival.

Not exactly a huge fan of either of these but my vote for sure will go to Okex.

They are highly rated and popular for right reasons. While BitMex reputation is not that good….
