Then what is the difference in VSE and Home version if you are using on client PC or server as it hardly matters. Database is same

The difference, well... the UI, the fact that in VSE you can touch absolutely every setting in the product, Home version comes with some hardcoded setting, for example, Artemis.
There's The legal issue too, and some other protections that McAfee may throw into VSE but not into VSH
