The last visit of the BitEnergi Ltd. UK representative in Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Dipolog City, Philippines, brought us good news: The government officials say that the Mahogany tree (Swietenia Macrophylla) is a deregulated tree. That means it does not need any permit for cutting when planted on private lands. It also means that BitEnergi Ltd. UK can act through it's agents to lease lands and plant trees without having to register as a corporation in the Philippines. The only requirements are a land title, land lease and registration of the trees with local CENRO (Community, Environment and Natural Resources Office). Some fact stated by the official is that there is not enough planting in the Philippines and there are not enough trees to supply the increase demand for processing factories and construction businesses.

Those are probably not on private lands and the trees are not having good commercial value, they were left alone to grow the way they wanted. You can find maybe 10-100 mahogany per hectare, while commercial planting is 1100 trees per hectare, much denser.I am not interested into buying with big money someone's grown up mahogany but plant it from the scratch.The DENR government employee assured me that there is not enough planting going on as of now, and already not enough trees. In 12 years after planting we might be the ones deciding the prices something like 'price setters'. And everything is so simple as long as it is on private land. Just plant, register with local CENRO the trees and when time is coming to harvest, I use the documents provided in order to transport the trees.To me now everything is over-simplified. I don't need to start a corporation here, which was a big pain in the ass and big money.
(Me) Great we don't need extra investments for corporate structures, but... What would the legal position of tree owners be now? I thought part of the reason for corporating everything was to add legitimacy to BitEnergi?
It was not happening now but some more time ago. It just happened that I found out now from the right government agency, DENR.I will act as an agent for BitEnergi UK here in the Philippines and rent the land in the name of the company, or I will just have a contract with the company. Let me show you the contract, it's attached.I can also start a business here (not a corporation) and rent land in the name of the business, no problem. I will name the business BitEnergi. I can own a busines here or I will have it together with another big shareholder from Bitenergi UK to secure the trees in case one of us will die or something like that. We will find ways, hehe. No one is securing anything nowadays, people put their hundreds of BTC in exchanges and those can disappear in a second. The trees can be found here and once we have an established business we can be found here locally, there will be a HQ .. secretary answering e-mails.. everything.
