Avira Antivirus update wreaks havoc on millions of PCs

My thoughts from about 6-7 years ago; Why I Hate Conventional Anti-Malware Scanners

"I think it is sad that so many still periodically rip the guts out of their system while usually using multiple scanners and without even a clue to what items they are removing. Then these same folks wonder why their system and applications fail to function properly after they have been ripped apart by various scanners."

Do you use any kind of signature scanner? anti-virus? anti-spyware? anti-trojan?

Unfortunately, ALL SIGNATURE SCANNERS ARE PRONE TO F/Ps(false positives). Therefore, ALL scanners are prone to trash innocent sys and application components.
