OPERA CHROME EXTENSIONS.
« on: 01. February 2015., 04:59:30 »
Hello,

I Use OPERA.

After OPERA15+ Most CHROME Extensions Are Compatible With It.

All Extensions Have An "Unique ID" Of 32 Characters ( lowercase From a To p ).

I Need An Extension To Automatically Close Duplicate Surplus Clone Tabs.

I Have Tried Several Extensions But Sometimes They Close All The Duplicate Tabs - Instead Of Leaving The Older ( Or The Most Recent ) Untouched.

Is There An Extension "Unique ID" Someone Will Recommend For This Particular Task ?

Thank You.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with Opera anymore... :-\

-

Once upon a time (7-8 years) I was a big fan of Opera (especially because of speed on dial-up connections) but later with broadband I moved to Firefox (much more and better add-ons)... now (last two years) I use Chrome and that is my recommendation. Just give it a chance for a Week and you will see... ;)

I Have Used Them All - Their Policies Regarding Extensions Is What Makes Me Change, From Time To Time.

I Used IE8 Until I Discovered The Wonderful World Of Extensions With FF,

I Used FF Until They Screwed Old Extensions With The Introduction Of Version 4,

I Used CHROME, Until Recently, When They Screwed Power Users ( I Consider Myself To Be One ) Not Giving Me An Option To Use Extensions Outside Of The CHROME Web Store,

I Am Using OPERA Now.

OPERA15+ Is A Clone Of CHROME But Its Extensions Policy Is Much Free - For Now.

Like OPERA, There Are Lots Of CHROME Clones - I Will Choose Another One When OPERA Screws Me In The Future - I Am Sure Every Browser Will.

The Help, I Am Asking For, Regards CHROME Extensions, Because, As I Said, Most Of Them Are Compatible.

Cheers.

Related to your "problem" with duplicate Tabs... I would suggest that you consider solution "seen from a different angle"... instead of closing, why don't you try this extension (it's for Chrome) which prevent opening of duplicate tabs - "Clutter Free": https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clutter-free-prevent-dupl/iipjdmnoigaobkamfhnojmglcdbnfaaf

As it works, the site or page that you’ve opened on your second tab will be automatically closed, leaving the current tab as an empty tab. Apart from that, the extension will immediately redirect you to the first tab.

After A Week That Extension Appears To Be Working Flawlessly With OPERA.

Now, I Do Not Know Why I Have Dismissed The Older Version - Oh, Well.

Thank You.

FF BREAKS EXTENSIONS AGAIN ?
OPERA15+ Is Still My Main Browser, But I Use CHROME And FF For Specific Tasks.

---

A Long Time Ago, I Dumped FF For CHROME, Because FF4 Broke Extensions Backwards Compatibility, And I Used Version 3.6.28, For A While.

With The 2 New FF52 Versions, Is That Threat Back Again ? - I Will Use Version 51.0.1, For Now.

Cheers.

The version number just took a quick upwards sequence, but it's pretty stable and I'm on FF Aurora

Well, 1 Of My Most Important Extensions Does Not Work With Both New FF52 Versions.

I Will Test It Again With Newer Stable Versions When They Become Available.

Thank You.
