I always recommend making a back up copy of your registry before making
ANY changes.

This is not so much a software limitation as it is a ‘web’ imposed
standard.
You can edit IE7 so that you can download more files from the same
server at one time.

1) Hit ‘start’ and type in ‘regedit’

2) Scroll through the list till you find this:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion and
   Internet Settings

3) Right click on ‘max connections’ and select ‘modify’. Now, set the
decimal value to '4'

4) Reboot
