Restored data and auto-cad files won't open. Have the .bak files that auto-cad saves during work performed on .dwg files.
My understanding is rename the .bak to .dwg and the file will open, however it give an error the file cannot be opened.
Anyone seen this before and know how to open auto-cad .bak files?

Hi
I assume you have seen this:

Renaming is the standard way of doing a 'restore', but check out the deletion of dwl lock files. If you go through some of the AutoCAD forums you also find recommendations to use the INSERT function into blank DWG as suggested in the link.

Also you can check and restore your data successfully using DWG Recovery Toolbox.

I hope my answer was useful for you.) And don't forget first of all to make a backup!
