Samker is correct about looking for VSE8.7 HotFix 982564, but is listed as required to VSE 8.7i to install the 5700 Anti-Malware Engine.
I mentioned the actual file name when I said VSE870HF982564
It can get kind of confusing as Mcafee has had the "5700" engine out for awhile, but it was really giving the 5600 engine via bad linkage on their end...
This is another "end of life" HF

It can get kind of confusing as Mcafee has had
LOL... kind of confusing... One has to study 5 years full time just to be able to install McAfee... Samker tried to explain it to me, but... I just don't get it ;p

Metalmunna i think the download paches list for VSE 8.7i that you published here, did not have the needed hotfix because that list is particular for an specific user. And also maybe for your user is not available that hotfix, because your account have a grant number for mcafee product that not in accordance for the need of this hotfix.
Hope this is the reason and we need another way to find that hotfix.

No, that's not. i have access of whole security application of McAfee! nothing left. A to Z. it's not available on the GRANT, i checked by different GRANT number, but nothing yet! as soon available i will let you know. they never release something for selected user only. whatever ... please wait till Samker back online and check the file before publishing, Just wait ...

Beta on 6th May 2014
Release Candidate (RC) on 26th Aug 2014
RTW (Elective Download) end of Sept 2014
RTW (Auto Update) in Jan 2015
5600 Engine End Of Life (EOL) 31st Mar 2015
PS: Somebody have any ideea if RC Scan engine 5700 will be the same with RTW 5700.

Hotfix 982564 (VSE870HF982564.Zip) was never actually released, and isn't really required to successfully upgrade from 5600 to 5700, regardless of what McAfee said in the release notes ??

No you cannot. You will receive an error message after what appears to be a successful update (buried within the "update" logs) stating that the product "McAfee VirusScan Enterprise Workstation has reached its end of life"
You can also see this message if you read the progress of an update line by line while in progress..

Summary
IMPORTANT:
The 5600 Engine, which is now available for download, requires a mandatory hotfix (VSE 8.7i Patch 5 Hotfix 777352). The hotfix (VSE870HF777352.Zip) is attached to this article.
The 5600 Anti-Malware Engine is signed with a newer certificate that is not automatically trusted by VSE 8.7i. Hotfix 777352 is required to update the digital certificate information.
This issue applies only to VSE 8.7i. It does not affect VSE 8.8.
VSE 8.7i Patch 5 and Hotfix 777352 are both required on all VSE 8.7i systems before you can successfully upgrade to the 5600 Engine.
Hotfix 777352 updates the McAfee Trust certificate store for your local system, and the McAfee tool vldtrustaddcert.exe is used to add the certificate to the certificate store as part of the update process. Therefore, ensure that any third-party process monitoring or enforcement applications in your environment allow this process to run.

Solution
To install the hotfix on VSE 8.7i Patch 5, extract VSE870HF777352.Zip and either run the hotfix directly on a client or deploy it through ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).
To verify that the hotfix was successfully applied, check the following:
The VSE Fixes property for client systems in the ePO console reports that Hotfix 777352 is present.
The hotfix is listed in the Windows registry on client systems in the following location. Look for Hotfix_777352.
64-bit systems HKLM\SOFTWARE\[Wow6432Node]\McAfee\DesktopProtection
32-bit systems HKLM\SOFTWARE\McAfee\DesktopProtection

Do I need this hotfix?
If you use VSE 8.7i, you must install this hotfix before you upgrade to the 5600 Engine. If you use VSE 8.8, the hotfix is not required.
Does the hotfix require a reboot?
Yes, conditionally. McAfee recommends that you restart systems after you install the hotfix, but it is not required immediately unless you intend to update to the 5600 Engine directly after you install the hotfix.
What is vldtrustaddcert.exe?
A McAfee tool used during execution of the hotfix. It adds the updated certificate to the certificate store.
How do I recover if I attempted to upgrade to the 5600 Engine before installing the hotfix?
Install Hotfix 777352 and restart the system.

As I see, no one doesn't have this Hotfix yet... however, my VSE 8.8 (I just checked) now use Scan Engine v. 5700.7163.
Obviously, it's updated automatically through regular updates. ;)

However i have tried to autoupdate the Mcafee 8.7i, and the engine is not autoupdated to 5700, only virus definitions. The message is that the product have ended his lifecycle.(because of missing hotfix).
But there is a solution for those who not want to go to version 8.8, please see my post on page 2, using the mcafee community super dat Sdat5700.exe release candidate who not require that the Hotfix 982564 to be installed separately.

Also the following scenario is possible(not tested):
-hotfix installed by previous SDat5700Eng.exe release canditate;
-you can install files mannualy for actual 5700 engine by replacing procedure described by mcafee in engine instructions;

i have success update to 5700.. before, i have engine 5400. i try to pacth with [i don't know detail of the pacth] but its work.. and the mcafee work great ..

Right now, I'm not sure did you update your AV engine with using Laurik's trick (above) or you have Hotfix 982564 (VSE870HF982564.zip) for McAfee 8.7i ??
