Anyone seen this error in task scheduler for tasks. Does not let me do anything with it or show up. I think I might have to go in the registry to remove it.

My suggestion is to first use CCleaner and after that provide us logs from Kaspersky and HJT (for the case that reason for this is some "infection")

This is just a normal message error in which the program(Task Scheduler) cannot be accessed and run accordingly by a "Normal" user account that has no privilege unless you are true admin logged into the system -- "Windows Built-in Admin."

This was created with my admin account under, and I have admin rights. This task was set only to run when the user logs in and locks the box, and it works like champ and also the task was "hidden". When I go to view hidden tasks that message pops up, I did a search in the registry and found it, is it safe to delete it from there?
Also output from schtasks from command line.

Task Scheduler runs as a system service and requires administrator priviledge to run at the designated time.(or the ability to logon as a service or similar)
To run tasks automatically and set them up as a domain administrator. They run in the background and the workstation users will not see them.If you set them up using the administrator account of the local machine you will not necessarily have access to any domain shares or servers and so they stall.

Vista is my OS. And when I say hidden, I specifically chose the option for the task to be hidden so you have to go to view and show hidden tasks for it to show up. I will do a search from *.job files.

Ahh but see my error is strange one.. It is not even listed in task scheduler interface period.. Like it does not exist, and when I click on view hidden tasks, thats when it pops up with that error message I posted. SO I can't go in and configure it, that is why I was wondering if the deleting from the registry is my last resort.
Its fine the way it is now the process runs and it works like a champ but its annoying every time I go into task scheduler.

have you tried using the autoruns from microsoft? its part of the sysinternals suite. hope it helps.
