The crowd of pink mobile phones has high chances of being replaced by a purple army of handsets that keep appearing. Sony Ericsson has added even more color to its K770 Cyber-shot model by exclusively releasing
a purple version of  it at British mobile operator Planet 3.

The new Sony Ericsson K770 has the same performances as up to now, as the new purple color stands only for a more fashionable look and not for any changes in the phone's capabilities. The handset has the same evolved 3.2 megapixel camera with Photo Fix, capable of taking high quality captures. It brings the same slim sizes, at only 15 mm in thickness, only now improved with a color that adds even more personality than ever before.

"This vibrant purple colour gives the K770 more of a fashion feel and we're delighted to be able to offer it exclusively to our customers", said Frank Meehan, Director and General Manager, Hutchison Whampoa Ltd Global Handset & Application Group. "It is an eye-catching addition to the 3 Group portfolio, and this bold colour, together with our great value price plans and market leading mobile services, truly confirms our commitment to bring striking design and real value to our customers", he further added. There is no question about it, especially when considering the large number of mobile phones turning purple over the past period.

There seems to be a pretty clear reason for the large number of devices choosing to switch to this new look. "The purple colour makes a big style statement, yet the phone itself is slim enough to slip neatly into your pocket or bag without compromising on camera phone performance", considers Magnus Anseklev, Vice President, Global Customer Unit Hutchison at Sony Ericsson.

The purple version of Sony Ericsson K770 will be available from now on exclusively at 3 Group, the UK mobile operator.
