Sigh... My links not enough???  :o

:)

Thanks Samker for the post. But I just want to know that this online virus scanner will just for one single file or it can use to scan the whole folder or the directory ?
The other thing I want to know that Is there any online tool or anti - virus is available that can scan the whole computer and remove all viruses from my PC. But I don't want to download the setup on my PC.

(Refresh: an overview of quick & free (online) virus scan services)

Several sources found...

0. (this thread) http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,1282.msg1755.html#msg1755

I found these online services not mentioned anywhere in the next 3 articles below...
- http://vscan.novirusthanks.org/ (newest link)

1. http://www.7tutorials.com/test-comparison-what-best-free-online-antivirus-scanner

A very complete walk-through by Ciprian Adrian Rusen on 05/30/2012 with his experiences...  His winner turned out to be good ol' Kaspersky - a product I stopped using almost a decade ago.

From his article I found the following solutions:
- http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/cloud-scanner.php
- http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/
- http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan

2. http://www.itscolumn.com/2012/02/16-free-virus-scanner-online-to-scan-your-computer-or-file/

This article points you to no less than 16 online anti-virus scanners... Including short descriptions Alan Tay's article has the following extra links not seen above:

3. http://technojourney.com/softwares/best-online-virus-scanners-free-antivirus-check-computer/

To finish it all off, this page by Nikhil Chakravarthi offers this extra scanner not found by the previous authors...

---> ALL three articles conclude Kaspersky is da' best :s Something to re-learn* for me, I guess? ; ))

.:: MiDo NaBiL (http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,4160.msg19908.html#msg19908) recommends EmiSoft.

Samker also wrote an article about this: Online Anti-Malware Scanners (http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,734.msg862.html#msg862). He found the following extra services:
- OR consider to pay small fee for quick help via SCF "Remote PC Assist" (http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,3067.msg6931.html#msg6931).

User "Zocker" replied with the following Rescue CD's (http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,734.msg17822.html#msg17822):
- http://www.f-secure.com/en/web/labs_global/removal/rescue-cd
- http://www.pctools.com/aoss/details/
- http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/nbrt.aspx?ssdcat=221&lcid=1033&serviceid=181&pName=NAV&pversion=18.0&origin=thankyou&env=beta&layout=esd&tooltype=both&osver=5.1 (actually, this is from Samker somewhere else... ***)

Another article by Samker, where he lists links to websites with numerous small and free utilities which are specialized into removing specific virus types from your system:
- http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,4510.msg3629.html#msg3629 (2009 - might need update)

If you have any experiences, share! Pretty please... ; ))

* Yes, I stopped using Kaspersky long time ago. Reason? One of the best, but IF it srews up, you are lost (in my old experiences). So Avast now all the way, for years and years (USE CHROME!**).
BUT... I did use Kaspersky's online scan for many more years, until they shut it down. Sorry: they would be back soon, 'cause of an upgrade of their technology. That upgrade took a long time, but I guess the wait is finally over. I most certainly will start Kaspersky online scan again! Nice and probably a better doublecheck than Superantispyware & Hitman Pro...

** Chrome for its Sandbox technology. BUT do NOT install Avast Web Shield. Since Google Pack & Avast parted ways, they do not play together anymore. Avast 7 works excellent with Chrome AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT INSTALL WEB SHIELD. And you don't need it, strictly spoken...

*** ... and Samker continues... From: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,4087.msg19960.html I found out there are better Norton Removal tools. The one originally mentioned here has a weekly scan and is installed as regular software - which I HATE. So if you like Norton, try these two solutions:
- http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.aspx?lcid=1033 (Norton Power Eraser)
- http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/nbrt.aspx?ssdcat=221&lcid=1033&serviceid=181&pName=NAV&pversion=18.0&origin=thankyou&env=beta&layout=esd&tooltype=both&osver=5.1 (Norton Bootable Recovery Tool [beta]) ****

**** Norton website says the bootable cd is NOT free but... I could download & update before creating the iso. I have not yet tested if this means it will only scan, and not clean, without a license. Still in beta, we might be lucky...? Till <EDIT> :)
EDIT 130214: No, no such luck. Key needed! FROM: http://scforum.info/index.php?topic=4087.0
