Opera boasts over 100 million users
« on: 12. April 2010., 23:06:49 »

Opera today announced that their browser is now used by over 100 million users around the world: http://www.opera.com/press/releases/2010/04/12/
The number was divided with 50 million using the desktop edition and 50 million using Opera Mini for mobile devices. Year to year growth from March of last year to today stood at a strong 30 percent.

In addition to computers and mobile devices, Opera claims more users through market penetration from game consoles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opera_(web_browser)#Other_editions , TVs, and set top boxes. Opera has also seen rapid success from the browser ballot screen introduced in the EU earlier this year, though they’re still not completely satisfied with the current implementation.

“Our focus on speed, security, innovation and usability continues to yield results. We always listen to the needs and wants of our users, and they reward us by choosing Opera,” claimed co-founder Jon von Tetzchner.

“Opera’s record growth shows that we are on the right track, and that as user needs grow, we are growing right along with them,” said CEO Lars Boilesen. “Opera for Desktop delivers the fastest browsing experience on the planet, with a visionary approach to features and a user-friendly design.”

The Opera team did an excellent job on their latest release. I use Opera regularly though I seem to have issues with YouTube channels with the Ajax links randomly not working for some reason. It might just be a problem on my end.
Best regards,
Brian

You can use Fanboy's Adblock List for Opera. Very quality list. Updated always.
