IF you want to watch the BBC on your mobile AND if you are NOT in the United Kingdom, you still can get free acces with a very basic and simple DNS trick - which works like magic :) Read more about it here: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,7919.msg19788.html#msg19788 .

New month, new apk :s

I couldn't find a quick download link, but I did find another nifty program* that will give you the latest versions of BBC Media Player & BBC iPlayer for Android.

I arrived at http://m.frews.store.aptoide.com/app/market/bbc.iplayer.android/1520170/2668086/BBC%20iPlayer . This link is not important, but the alternative Google Play Store "Aptoide" ìs!

So get your phone to the Aptoïde-site and install their store.

Start the program and search for BBC Media Player (or if you already had it installed, just check the updates tab...). All else is self-explanatory...

The Aptoide-app lets you bypass Google Play's geo-location and country settings.

Enjoy? Let us know...

Starting 2 weeks, my BBC iplayer woudn't load anymore.

I decided to tackle the problem once more, but am failing... (no image will load, nor the tv guide).

First I went to tunlr.net for the correct IP's and changed them accordingly with the Set DNS app by H12 Enterprises.

Did this not fix it.

So I went on with the Aptoide app (as previously advised), here: http://www.aptoide.com/search/view?search_top=bbc+iplayer

Latest version found is 1.7.0.112. I first removed the old app (as far as I can tell the same version!) and installed this version.

Still nothing!

Sigh... Help? :s

People keep downloading my old bbc apk...

I still do not have it working, but I do have the binaries released early September (4th?).

If anyone outside the UK can get it to work... DO let us KNOW :P

Devvie's MIRROR: https://app.box.com/s/ot4yw0hdc844w9f3plvi - folder BBC\2013 September

FROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2392504

Leads to BBC Media Player 2.1.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45301687&postcount=512) and leads to BBC iPlayer 2.0.0.337 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45324202&postcount=530)

And if you are unfamiliar with what is what, you can read more here: http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/mobile_tablet/mediaplayerfaq .

A copy paste:
"Will the BBC Media Player app replace the BBC iPlayer app?
No. The current BBC iPlayer app will continue to exist. Currently, we have only integrated it with the BBC iPlayer mobile website. Soon, it will also be integrated with the BBC iPlayer application (the BBC iPlayer app which you download from Google Play). Shortly thereafter, BBC Media Player will be integrated with other BBC websites and applications. However, once integrated, the BBC Media Player is intended to be a helper application to enable the BBC iPlayer app to play BBC video and audio programmes.

The BBC iPlayer application will be the app you use to find and choose programmes to play. It (and other BBC websites and applications) will pass on these play requests to BBC Media Player. For the most part, once BBC Media Player is installed, you should just ignore it and continue to access iPlayer on your Android device the way you always have done.

Why is BBC Media Player a separate app from BBC iPlayer?
By having BBC Media Player as a separate app, we can centralise all of the work and all of the code needed to play video and audio on Android devices in one place. This will make it easier for us to improve and develop over time. Additionally, without the FlashMedia plugin, there isn't a way for us to provide secure media playback directly in a web browser. This meant we needed to build a separate application which could play video and audio for our websites."

So still no karma, but for sure... SOMEBODY must have figured this out by now?? :(

Let us KNOW :)
