The Only Beef I Have With GOOGLE Concerns CHROME And Their Extensions:

A - Unlike YANDEX, They Did Not Provide An Alternative Way For Power Users To Continue Using Extensions Outside Their Web Store,

B - Searching For Their Extensions Is Becoming Dumber And Dumber:

- Using The Web Store Search Option Is Becoming Useless The More And More, As Is Using Their Own Search Engine, Too.

Cheers.

Gmail more and more blocks unusual account activity. In the basics, that's a good thing. Keep an eye out  ;)

BUT not telling people HOW TO enable untrusted 3th party gmail activities, THAT they do NOT tell you. Sure you get an email. Very friendly, it seems.

But what if I indeed want to give a Chinese or Russian site that full access to your info, after YOU just TYPED and logged in with OLA (whatever the name;p)??

They do not tell you!

Got it solved here: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,8613.msg22305.html#msg22305

In general: I'm really pissed of because, for years now, I more often than not, am redirected by Google to obsolete, incomplete, removed or irrelevant help pages that keep you cycling in a loop forever. It has become a real nuisance and today's problem was a good example of this.

Reminds me of Microsoft, whom especially in the older days were really bad in keeping info correct when following help / links. Luckily, they are really trying to keep up and improve. I cannot say the same from Google :(

Nooooo Karma!

Read Samker's article here: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,8539.msg22012.html (and my thoughts about them!)

No karma ;p

Only today this has become a problem.

In the old classic gmail look, when somebody sent you a phone or picture, you would see that attachment in full. Sometimes messy with big pictures, but very convenient for quick looking and reading a thread with different jpegs.

Now, you only get a partial preview of the picture. You have to click it to open it in some kind of desktop mode. No idea what's it called, but it sucks big balls :( And I do not like the thumbnail preview one bit :(

12. http://webapps.stackexchange.com/q/49712/47994

Copy Paste:
"Coming from a different angle, me too I'm "suddenly" (for some time now) having problems with filtering.

Something has changed, for sure! ;p

In short: gmail search gives different results when used as a filter instead from the search box

For example: When I search in gmail for weightloss -(ebook OR allsport OR runtastic) I will get 31 results.

When I create a filter with that search, the preview pane drops from 31 found emails to only 3 found emails in the last step, where you decide which actions should be taken.

I've seen this happening with different queries for some time now and it ANNOYS THE CRAP out of me :(

When reading this article I tried the following syntaxes too... weightloss -{ebook OR allsport OR runtastic} weightloss -{ebook allsport runtastic} (weightloss -{ebook OR allsport OR runtastic}) And even filling in the wizard fields (contains: weightloss and does not contain: ebook allsport runtastic). I also tried '-(ebook OR allsport OR runtastic) as Does not contain value. And probably I tried other searches too - but 28 emails are always lost in the last step (and easily found when using the search query box...).

The only gmail search that gives the exact same 3 results as the filtered results, is: (weightloss -(ebook OR allsport OR runtastic)) All my other searches show 31 found emails.

So searching in gmail for weightloss -(ebook OR allsport OR runtastic) gives 31 results again...

SIGH!

What am I overlooking...?

I start to hate Google more and more :s

Thank you and...

1. I mention iGoogle. First, tabs weren't allowed on top anymore. Only sideways. Then it was closed down. Without explanation, leaving me with a +1000 hours of WASTED work (and my friends without THEIR iGoogle :()

2. See this: password policy: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/gmail/4R4sbmvWn7U%5B1-25-false%5D HATE IT HATE IT HATE.

3. Gmail: new user-interface sucks and does not work conveniently. Over the year, it has become more cluttered than ever before. See old gmail. SEE Outlook.com! I hardly dare to transfer friends to gmail anymore: they ALWAYS complain and it takes them approx. 1 to 2 weeks just to "master" the basics... Even I am always looking for what-where-the-fuck! Grmbl.

4. Google Groups: new interface made it unusable - after the massive hy-jacks and posting problems a few years ago, I abandoned http://groups.google.com/group/altoswindows-2k3 altogether

5. Google Reader: being closed!!! While SO MANY PEOPLE depend on it! It's rude. Noblesse oblige! Also see iGoogle...

6. Waiting for this forever: see which filter actually is ACTIVE for a given gmail email... http://productforums.google.com/d/msg/gmail/qpZ9VyDbTC4/qWz3F4xeDAIJ

7. Run all / selected gmail filters now

8. This one is fair enough from Google's perspectives, but still... Why no more free Google Apps for your Domain?? I'm looking into alternatives (including outlook.com) and will post about that probably one of these days...

9. For years I see the same (confirmed) bug for many of my friends... I setup gmail as their main email client. Every other email account is imported with pop3 to its own Label. Besides that one, I create countless of filters to catch all main addresses and MOVE them from the Inbox to THEIR label. Still, emails arrive in the Inbox - even the ones that SHOULD be catched by my filters... Makes NO sense and kinda RUINS the usability of gmail as the primary email client for my dumbwit friends :(

10. Google+ ... Google+!!!

11. Google Wave. It failed. Sorry, I liked it but ok. It failed. Still... You showed on the Demo very proudly a new kind of translation bot: Rosy Etta - aunt-rosie@appspot.com - Translator (40 Languages) and
Aunt Rosie - aunt-rosie@appspot.com - Translator bot. They looked VERY impressive and REALLY smart but never saw the light. 4 years later we are STILL stucked with the basic Google Translate. Which does not work at all in RL situations.

x. more to follow ;pp

NO KARMA WHATSOEVER!

(TOPIC WAS: Completely disable Google+ & keep gmail and profile (=non-removable!) (May 2013))

A friend of mine came with this problem...

This is what I found out. READ EVERYTHING FIRST! THEN decide...

--> https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1044503?hl=en-gb (Downgrade from Google+)

I want to delete my Google+ account

What to do: If you’d like to delete your Google+ content and stop using Google+, you can downgrade your Google+ account. To downgrade your Google+ account:

Sign in to Google+ http://plus.google.com/.
Click your full name or email address in the top-right corner of your screen.
Click Account.
In “Account Management" chose Delete profile and remove related Google+ features.. (https://plus.google.com/downgrade/?authuser=0)

What happens next? A new tab will be opened:

Delete Google+ content or your entire Google profile

If you delete Google+, Google attempts to restore your experience of other Google products to the way it was before you joined Google+ and to permanently delete your Google+ circles, posts, and comments. If you delete your Google profile, you delete Google+ as well as other services and their data that depend on a Google profile.

I chose: Delete Google+ content
Over the next few days, Google will attempt to delete all Google+ features and your Google+ data from your Google Account:

Your circles will be deleted, but people in your circles will remain in your Contacts.

Your +1's will be deleted.

Your posts and comments will be deleted and won't available to the people or communities you shared them with.

Any profile information that you did not make public will be deleted.

Many Google+ social and sharing features will be disabled for you on other Google sites.

Content from other services, such as videos, will no longer be visible to people in those circles.

You won't be able to use the "Sign in with Google" button to log in to third-party apps.

Any of your app activity sent to Google by third-party apps will be deleted.

!!!!!! YouTube !!!!!!
Check https://www.youtube.com/identity_help?authuser=0&hl=en to see if you have linked your YouTube channel with your Google+ profile.

-----> If you have linked your YouTube channel with your Google+ profile, then your comments, messages, and incoming subscriptions will be deleted, and the rest of your channel contents (e.g., videos, playlists) will become private.

------> To keep your channel as it is, unlink it from your profile before deleting your profile. Learn more here: http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2657970

Switch back to a YouTube username
Channels that have linked to a Google+ page (not profile) can only switch back to a YouTube username within 14 days after linking.
You can disconnect your channel from Google+ and switch back to a traditional YouTube username:

Make sure you're signed into YouTube, and go to YouTube account settings: http://youtube.com/account
Click the link: "Change to a business or other name, and disconnect Google+ profile", found below your email address.
If you had an old YouTube username:
You will then be asked to confirm that you want to revert your YouTube channel to your old username. Click OK and your identity will be reset to your old username. Your old avatar (if you had one) will be restored as well.

If you never had a YouTube-specific username: You will then be able to enter a YouTube username. Follow the instructions and then click OK. Your identity and Channel URL will be updated to reflect your new username, and your Google+ photo will no longer appear as your YouTube avatar.

However:
No Google+ pages that you own will be deleted. You must either delete your pages or transfer ownership of your pages before you can delete your Google+ content.

To delete or transfer ownership of your pages, go to your Google+ Pages settings: https://plus.google.com/pages/manage . Learn More: http://support.google.com/plus/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1713811

No photos will be deleted: you can still access them in Picasa. To delete them, go to Picasa Web Albums.

Your connected accounts will not be affected. Use the Connected accounts settings (https://plus.google.com/connectedaccounts?hl=en) to manage them.

Your chat buddies in Google Talk and Gmail will not be deleted.

Your Google+ Local reviews will not be deleted: They will be marked as private and accessible in the "My Places" section of Google Maps. You will be able to delete them there. Learn more: http://support.google.com/plus?p=downgrade_local&hl=en .

No communities you created will be deleted, unless you're the only member.

You won't be able to use the "Sign in with Google" button to log in to third-party apps.

Any of your app activity sent to Google by third-party apps will be deleted.

This should do the trick. I adjusted the copy-pastes with the actual texts I found on MY pages...

Karma
