A comparison between web browsers Power consumption
« on: 03. April 2011., 08:14:07 »

Microsoft did an experiment to see which of the top 5 web browsers ( IE9, Firefox 4, Chrome 10, Opera 11 & Safari 5) is best in terms of power consumption ( that might not be of any importance for Desktop users, but laptop users will be glad to use something that sips less juice from the limited power supply they got ), so who won ? you can take a guess :)
Microsoft says that power consumption was one of the goals they set for their latest bowser IE9, so Job well done I guess :)
The tests were launched on windows 7 ultimate machines with latest updates and drivers and with defragmented hard disks to minimize the interference of any other factors.
The tests are :
* Power Consumption with Idle System
* Power Consumption with about:blank
* Power Consumption on News Site
* Power Consumption on HTML5 Application, Galactic
* Power Consumption on HTML5 Application, FishIE Tank
