Ok well I thought I would lay this out there for everyone. Since I am a computer consultant and have access to things others don't, I have Windows 7 enterprise edition (retail version). I will let you know I like this much better then Vista already, for it isn't sucking ram like a kid with there first coke. But I have run into one issue and thought I would ask and seen if anyone has seen this. I had McAfee Anti-virus 8.5i Patch 8 (thanks again Samker) but it would not load on Windows 7 for me. So I thought I would ask if any of you techies out there that have been playing with Windows 7, does McAfee 8.7i work with Windows 7 or am I stuck with Sophos as my new anti-virus. Now, I like Sophos, but I like McAfee as well. So let me know your thoughts and if anyone has 8.7 and it works with Windows 7 ??

yeah 8.7i, runs in win7, im using it right now :) actually im working my way up to 25 posts and stay here forever, this is a great place..

i confirm.8.7i work great with windows 7.if you don't have patch 2 you have a message but it's minor

there have been issues with 8.7 eating up memory though. not sure if the patch fixes it.

runnig VSE 8.7i + win 7 rtm x86 flawless.

8.7i works fine on Windows 7, although watch out... when you run it on x64 it constantly warns you that something tries to terminate it when really that isn't a case. It's something that should be fixed in Patch 2.

Patch 2 is what McAfee recommends.

I'm going to install Win7 this weekend, and I intend to put 8.7i on it with patch 2. Will post up if all goes smoothly.

8.7 with Patch two is working fine for me on Windows 7 home.

We are testing v8.7 With Win 7, As 8.5 has problems with the framework service's not talking to the system properly becasue of the UAC stuff e.t.c.

I think that you'll need to install version 8.7 with latest Patch 2.

im running 8.7i Patch 2 under windows 7 ultimate x64 and for some reason, i get multiple running processes of conhost.exe and wscavexe.exe
i can get up to like 300+ extra running processes that end up starting up rendering my pc unresponsive to anything and therefore forcing me to restart. not sure what and why its doing this but im wondering if patch 3 fixes this, if it was a known issue.

McAfee VirusScan 8.5i P8 and 8.7i P3 work flawlessly in both Windows 7 x86 and x64.

Hey thanks again for P3, so far so good, i haven't had any problems up till now "knocks on wood" lol. :thumbsup:
my pc also has been starting up quicker too! woohoo thanks again! ill let you know if i run into any problems, but for now all is excellent!

8.7i works fine on Windows 7 32 bit version.....haven't tested it on 64 bit Windows 7.

McAfee is Not Supported In the Window 7.I also Face same thing So now For the Temporary I just Switch on to Quick Heal and try to find out the McAfee for Window 7.

la verdad Mcafee 8.7 p3 me trabaja de maravilla en todos los OS windows que tengo. x64 y x86. ademas estoy en la espera del pacth 4 para poder optimizar el rendimiento de mi PC. me faltan unos post nada mas.
