How long have you used Mac OS X? Or you have recently switched from Windows to Mac? It doesn't matter. The matter is that did you ever know these useful Mac tips and tricks, which help your work simpler and quicker, such as switch between windows in Mac faster, control your web browser tabs, or even take screenshots.
Sometimes, your mouse and touchpad won't help your work faster enough. That's time you need to use shortcuts that will have the ability to speed up your work and do things that you never thought it exists. So, here are three simple Mac tips and tricks that will help you control your Mac computer easier.
Splitting Your Mac Screen Into Two PiecesIf you have used Microsoft Windows 7 before, then you might have known that it has the ability to
split the entire screen into two pieces, which combined between two separate application windows. Technically, this feature will allow you to combine two different and active windows into one in your display. For example, you can combine two browsers into one to view two websites on your screen at a time. Each browser takes a half of your display.
Since Apple Mac OS X El Capitan, this split screen feature is available and worked like in Microsoft Windows 7. So if you want to show two different Mac windows on your entire display, follow the instructions below:
1. Firstly, choose the first window/application that you want to combine with the other. Then hit and hold the green expand icon on the top-left until it shrinks. After that, a half of your Mac screen will be highlighted and turned into blue.
2. Drag the above window to the left side on your Mac screen. Then choose the second window/application and drag it to the right side.
That's it! Your Mac display has split into two pieces, and each shows a different window. This is a great feature, which you can use to watch a YouTube video while chatting or reading an online newspaper, or checking your Facebook News Feed.
When you don't want to use this mode anymore, simply click on the green expand icon, and it will be restored back to the normal mode.
Take Screenshots In Mac EasierIf you have just switched to Mac OS X from another operating system like Windows or Linux, then you might feel strange with its features and shortcuts, such as copy & paste, or taking screenshots.

- Command + Shift + 3: This shortcut will help you capture a screenshot of the entire Mac screen and then save the screenshot file to the Mac desktop, by default.
