Sorry to Pros and It guys; i just mean that ordinary users will tell the problems they faced in the same way might face it when use the software

I have learned not install any service pack or any kind of software or even a new windows version until i see the opinions of ordinary users about it.

it's ordinary users whom you can trust on this, not pros or IT guys.

Same here.  I download, but install each update after I view/verify what it is for.

Glad they are releasing a roll-up package, but it would be any "new" features that would get my interest...

It's not so far that final release! I'm gonna still wait for it!

If you have enabled Automatic Updates, you already have all important Hotfixes from SP1 etc. ;)

Latest info's about official SP1:

Quote
... assumption that "we're" relatively close to official release of SP1 is wrong, with a post from the Windows Team Blog saying that "Windows 7 SP1 will be available in the first half of 2011 through the usual channels." Brandon LeBlanc, Windows Communications Manager on the Windows Client Communications Team said that "For Windows 7, SP1 is simply a combination of updates already available through Windows Update  and additional hotfixes based on feedback by our customers and partners."

Brandon reiterates that "Business customers tell us that they are already seeing the benefit of deploying Windows 7, and industry analysts agree that there is no need to wait for SP1" and trumpeted that this month, "Windows 7 [has] nearly 14% share of the global OS market."

SP1 only contains two major new features, which will not affect the majority of users. The first of the two is RemoteFX, a standalone product that requires Windows Server 2008 R2 to be used. RemoteFX allows users to watch high-quality video and interact with 3D applications over a remote desktop session -- this will change the way Virtual Machines are used, as they have had limited display capabilities until now.

The second feature is an update for HyperV in Windows Server 2008 R2 called "Direct Memory". The feature is as simple as it sounds -- it dynamically allocates memory to virtual machines as required and is able to remove memory from virtual machines when others need higher resources.

I wondered if this would happen given what the other IT website was saying about MS dumping there schedule.

I think there slowy starting to realise that they are way too slow out of the starting blocks these days comparaed to other software vendors which should be hugely embarising for such a huge company as MS.

I wonder if they will take the same semi-proactive approach to the Xbox game-ing side of things given there being left behind big time now by the PS3!! Dont bother with Natel till the next Xbox MS...Nuff said!! : )
