Chrome has lots of problems when loading pages (takes a while). AV is possible culprit (Avast!!! ). Also build-in checks on malware etc take a while. And check your DNS speed...

...

This is exactly the reason why I uninstalled McAfee... right now, Chrome surf much faster in combination with Panda AV.

Psst. I have a secret to tell... I think newest Avast lost me. We had some fights in the past, we seemed ok but... She really hates my Bigger Love Chrome... That's why I'm testing AntiVir once more. Super fast. Not much nagging anymore BUT... It's one of the few AVs that can crash if Windows comes into problems. And that's unacceptable. I'll keep you informed in my default programs to install thread...

D

Did you ever tried Panda AV: http://scforum.info/index.php/topic,2708.0.html ?

I left Firefox before few months and now use Chrome... but time to time (when opened 10+ tabs) it simply blocks.

By the way, WTF is Mozzila Gecko 11 and is it possible that IE10 is faster that Chrome in Windows?

I must say... When I had my PC freshly installed, Win 8, no updates, no AV, no nothing... IE10 (IE11?) was SO fast, it was TOO fast... But that only lasted one round of updates and an AV.

In practice, loading pages in IE (especially multiple tabs) is a horror and not a serious browser at all. But totally stripped, yeah it could be fast.

Chrome has lots of problems when loading pages (takes a while). AV is possible culprit (Avast!!! :(). Also build-in checks on malware etc take a while. And check your DNS speed...

I'm using Chrome for basic browsing and all extensions. Opera for Flash video, new Opera awaiting possibility to sync old Opera account,  Waterfox for my TWC forum activities, Pale Moon for my Trading needs , IE if I need to login to yet another account (or to double-test if site really isn't working).

Hope it helps :)

Discuss!

Devvie (Chrome, Opera (old) for TV, Waterfox, Pale Moon, IE as backup / double-test).

Peace!
