I'm sure that Sync works quite good on my S2... ;)

Try this solution:

Quote
IMPORTANT: These steps below WILL DELETE ALL phone records from your phone, permanently

1.  Turn off the “Sync Contacts” for your Google account (in Account page)

2.  Go to your Applications page menu (swipe to the right for the ALL heading) then "Force Stop" the following: [Contacts] and [Contacts Storage] and [Google Contacts] and [Sync] and [Synchronize] ALL five (5) applications if you have them – “Clear Data” following each force stop

3.  Re-boot your phone

4.  Re-check “Sync Contacts” on your Google Account

Above SHOULD work.  If not, you may try the below steps:

---

1. through 3. above (same procedure here)

4. Go to PC.  Export all of "My Contacts" in Gmail to your PC as a Google CSV file. NOTE: Make sure you see the file.

5. (Still from PC) Delete all "My Contacts" in Google

6. Go to PC and Import the CSV file created at step 4. to your Google account

7. On phone in your Google account turn on Sync Contacts

Hope this is clear and works for you ?!

S3 still won't sync (contacts etc). On S5, dropbox won't sync.

I have given up on S3 synchronization. Samsung blew that Phone: so many many many bugs... unbelievable! So I'm now using specialized apps to get the tasks done... Sigh.

This has been bugging me for so long, I never did research after it though. I made other backup solutions! ;p

BUT... Got my S5 today (last chance for Samsung) so I delved into it once more...

And found a solution: the wtf is for Samsung: wtf were you thinking putting the solution in such an obscure, hidden place... Really! Shame, again!

Here it goes... FROM: http://webcazine.com/4455/why-is-my-google-account-having-sync-disabled-status-on-my-galaxy-s3/comment-page-1/#comment-2721

” Go to SETTINGS. Then DATA USAGE. Then tap the phone on the LOWER LEFT CORNER, next to the main button. A menu pops up and it contains AUTO SYNC DATA. Tick the box and SYNCING IS BACK AGAIN! ”

So... On Androïd 4.3...

Pull down menu bar
Press options symbol
First tab: Connections
3th option: Data usage: press it!
Press the phone's lower left menu button: a menu appears!
3th option: Auto Sync Data: enable this!

You should be done... Testing as we speak...
