I saw that you have "conclusion" in this particular case... but some Companies offer (really) Free services/apps in hope that user will later pay for more resources/features.
For example, Free/Paid versions of AVAST AV: https://www.avast.com/compare-antivirus
or even better example (similar to service from this Topic):
Google Drive: https://www.google.com/settings/storage
As you see, 15 GB is totally Free without limitations (I use and recommend this service) but for more space you need to pay "small" fee.
