Box.com installer setup gives the following error (summarized: lots of extra information in the original error warning - but nothing important)...
Box Sync:
assembly microsoft VC80.CRT an error occurred during the installation of assembly
This was on a virgin Vista x86 Business PC (SP0 -> SP1 -> SP2), Dutch version.
I actually solved this one by myself in one go - me proud
And the solution to the problem is simple.
FROM:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970652I downloaded MicrosoftFixit50202.msi (page
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;946414 gives a new page with the Microsoft Fix-It to download
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9643523).
Reboot the computer and try to install box.com again. This time it will work. Still no dice? At least take a look at this page?
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2004/11/10/255346.aspx .
With some luck it also fixed another installer problem I had: Soluto! See more here:
https://support.soluto.com/entries/23294127-Cannot-Re-Install-Soluto?page=1#post_24495576 : I uninstalled Soluto because it would not update and now I keep getting "Error 72450" when I try re-install it.
It "could" be that I was just lucky, but I tried to install Soluto up to 4 times and all times it failed. Not when I ran above fix ; -)
... karma!
