This is what I run, Minus a couple of not worth mentioning apps!!:
McAfee AV v8.5 + AntiSpyware Module running Latest Patches and DAT's,
McAfee Desktop Firewall Build 591 -
Nero 6.6 - This was the last of the lightest versions of Nero for XP without going the hacked "Lite" version route.
Adobe Reaer 9 - With ALL updater options turned off and Adobe Browser Helper Object's Disabled for security Reasons!!
Alcohol 120% - Drive Emulation Software - Save's you having to burn your ISO's to be able to install what is on them.
Badcopy Pro - Great Little Tool for recovering those once currupted SD Cards and scratched CD's!! Good Success Rate!
CD Ripper - Rips your CD's to MP3 or to whatever format takes your fancy. - From NCH Software, they do other great tools too!!
IE Browser - Although I dont Use it!!! -
IE Movie Maker - Not bad for a freebie from MS.
Firefox 3.6.3 + ABP + Download helper plus - Great Little tool with more plugins than you can shake a stick at!!
MP3 Converter - Great little tool for converting music files..free too!! - From NCH Software, they do other great tools too!!
MP3 Tag Editor - Freebie Tag Editor for editing your MP3 Files -
Norton Ghost 2003 - Last great version for XP that did'nt require .Net to be installed!! -
PaintShop Pro 9 - Nice Little Graphics App
PowerDvD9 - Great Playback software for DVD's and AVI's, you need a free AVI plugin for playback of AVI's.
SmartFTP v2.5 - Great FTP app, - Great for uploading and downloading to your XBOX I found it to be more stable than CuteFtp!!
UltraIso v9.1 - Great little tool for editing and updating ISO's, Used this to update my XP Iso release with various extra tools e.t.c
USB Storage Tool - HP's tool for creating bootable USB Sticks - Free if you can find it!!
VLC Media PLayer - Probably the worlds best universal media player which will pretty much play anythign you throw at it!!
WinRar Gold - next to 7zip this is a great tool for compresion, much better than ZIP and a little more universal than 7Zip
Orbit - Great tool for ripping youtube vid's e.t.c
Magic Disc - Magic Iso's Emulation Software which works the same as Alcohol 120% but deals with the "UIF" format
Intel Thermal Analysis Tool - Dont Ask and no it's not available to the public!!!
Malware Bytes - Dont think this one needs an explanation!!
And A Couple of other bits that are more bespoke to my needs so not worth mentioning.
