This is what you do:
1. install qbittorent
2. install jackett as a service for Windows: https://github.com/Jackett/Jackett/releases/latest
3. in qbittorent, enable the search engine (from the view-menu) and follow the installation instructions
4. in qbittorent, go to the search tab
5. in the qbittorent search tab, choose Update. This will download some search plugins. Disable them all except for jackett (you won't need the other ones with jacket)
6. create the file
7. go to the jackett UI: http://127.0.0.1:9117/UI/Dashboard
8. in the jackett UI, choose Add Indexer
9. set the filter to only show public trackers
10. (sigh) click each tracker so that its checkbox is ON. There are about 70 clicks needed
11. click the Add Selected button when you're done (bottom of the page) and wait 10 minutes or so - this will take a while!
12. BONUS: install https://github.com/FlareSolverr/FlareSolverr - this shouldn't be needed but it feels good to have someone do captcha's for you You can check if it is working here: http://127.0.0.1:8191/
THIS WILL HAVE A BIG MEMORY FOOTPRINT IF YOU DO A LOT OF SEARCHES!
Handy links you shouldn't need:
https://www.reddit.com/r/qBittorrent/comments/kzr0h5/guide_to_configure_jackett_plugin_on_qbittorrent/
DEFINITELY don't use this: https://github.com/qbittorrent/search-plugins/wiki/Unofficial-search-plugins
Now you can use qbittorent to search the best Linux movies, Unix hits or Ubuntu DVDs
;-)
Peace!
