Do hiking boots work in the snow?
« on: 01. November 2022., 10:41:34 »
Hiking boots are designed to be worn in the rain and snow. But some people think they work just as well with dry feet.

The truth is that hiking boots were not designed for hard-packed snow or for icy surfaces, like those found in an alpine environment. They were designed for walking over soft surfaces, like dirt, grass and gravel. This makes them great on trails but not so good for cold temperatures and icy conditions.

Hiking boots are designed to be worn on trails and surfaces that are covered with snow. However, if you’re planning on hiking in deep snow, it’s best to wear a shoe with treads or an insulated boot that’s made specifically for winter conditions. Some manufacturers like https://www.nortiv8shoes.com/collections/hiking offer waterproof boots that are designed to keep your feet dry when you’re hiking in water or snow. In addition to being waterproof, these boots typically have extra padding and insulation to prevent your feet from getting cold while they’re in the elements.
