I Do My Own Cooking ( Whenever Possible ) And I Do Not Need To Buy A Solution To This Problem.
---
I Have A Dual Core PC With XP PRO And OUTLOOK 2003 PRO.
How To Deal With OverSized PST Files When OUTLOOK Becomes Too Slow:
A - When Installing OUTLOOK:
A1 - Configure OUTLOOK To The Most Detail And Before Importing Any Mails,
A2 - Close OUTLOOK,
A3 - Permanently Copy And Identify OUTLOOK.PST Somewhere Else To Serve As An Image ( Around 15MB In My Case ) When You Need OUTLOOK To Become Faster.
---
B - Saving Individual Mails ( Only Important Ones ):
B1 - I Save Individual Mails Into File Formats .MSG ( The Simpler Format ),
B2 - If I Need To Bring A Specific Mail Into OUTLOOK Again, I Just Click The File Inside An Windows Explorer Session.
C - Saving Already Bloated OUTLOOK.PST Files ( Around 5000 Mails And 300MB In My Case ):
C1 - Close OUTLOOK,
C2 - Permanently Move And Identify OUTLOOK.PST Somewhere Else, If You Need To Bring It Back,
C3 - Replace ( C2 ) With An Originally Renamed Copy Of ( A3 ),
C4 - If You Need To Tweak The Original Configuration, This Is The Optimum Time To Do It - Do Not Forget To Repeat ( A ).
Cheers.
