utorrent is the best torrent software for windows.  Transmission for Mac is pretty good too.

Just a quick obeservation I have made, I use Bitcommet (Not the quickest of the Programs) but this seems to sucesfully fool the ISP's traffic shaping devices as it's now using DECV2 which is the new stream Encryption Technology.

I can always get pretty close to my max download speed with this program, Utorrent always gave me probs with constant disconects e.t.c although it's tiny footprint on system resources was to say the least...amazing!!!

So check it out...

P.s - I do not condone Illegal downloading, I just hate the Uk Goverment's niavety and there advisory bodies for constantly misleading the public hence my stance on data protection and privacy (If we still have any!!)

If anybody lives in the Uk and they have received a letter from there ISP in regards to P2P then your NOT encrypting your data and you must do this to prevent being cut of and to prevent Traffic shapping.

Because as of the 8th April 2010 a new bill was passed to be able to terminate the connection of any P2P user who is found to have downloaded copyrighted files.

Also if you do Encypted ALL of your data (Ensure you dont have the fallback option turned on!!) then you may want to take a look at the RIPA Act and the Data Protection act.

I beleive it has something in there in regards to the interception of communications and that it is illegal for the likes of BT to intercept your communmications as they would have had to crack the Encyption Protocol to see what you were sharing..you can now sue the ISP who provided your details to whoever maybe wanting to sue you!! Check out google and RIPA act for more info...

The orginal Poster gets a Karma Up from me too
