I'd have to agree on McAfee.

I've been using McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for years now, using 8.5i at the moment.
Others i've tried take up quite a bit of CPU usage.

I used to use AVG but since I got to the university and had access to McAfee, I've never looked back. The on-access scanner has save me a couple of times.

I must say no one antiivirus is perfect. When one antivirus unable to find virus in pc sometimes another antivirus may find that. Each antivirus uses its own definitions to identify viruses. There databases for virus related informations are different. But the one antivirus which protects your pc should be updated regularly and it should have numbers of viruses in database. Also it should not consume more resources.

As my experience now is Kaspersky, few months ago my college infect with msn spam virus with McAfee 8.5i AV+Anti Spam (updated definition), it can't find the virus. So I try Kaspersky 7.0 after update and scan a lot of virus detect also msn virus. problem solved. I'm not sure weather McAfee 8.7i is better or not.

I also use 8.5i and 8.7i on all of my machines. I have not had any issues and they both work great!

I'm currently using Norton Internet security 2010. Starting with the 2009 version, Norton significantly improved their speeds and proves strong protection. NIS2010 is a bit expensive though.
Best regards,
Brian
