Hello,

My Country Changes Timezones Twice A Year, Because Of Daylight Savings.

Here, Like The Site F1CHAT, It Seems I Have To Change My Profile, Manually, To Correct The Time For My Timezones.

Can You Check My Profile, And Tell Me What I Have Missed, For That Correction To Be Made Automatically ?

Thank You.

Hi A.,

I think that your profile settings are Ok... as I know, problem isn't resolved by SMF (producer of this forum) or better said it's resolved with manual "Auto Detect" function in your Profile (Modify Profile / Look and Layout / Time Offset).

As you know, some Countries uses Daylight Saving Time (DST) and some of them doesn't... because of that it's "impossible" to forum automatically change values for all members at the same time, "only" solution is to SMF develops Member profiles and enable option to member choose Time zone by yourself (not only "Time Offset", like now)... (this is just my guess).

Since SCforum have Members from All Around The World, default time is set to "UTC": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time

---

However, because of your question... I checked forum settings and found that I forgot to change server timezone settings after the last change of hosting provider. Our server is located in the USA under "Central Time Zone". Time in the CT zone is 6 hours behind UTC but during Daylight Saving Time (DST) it's 1 hour less.

Who knows, maybe this will resolve DST problem... but We'll know that in about 6 months (at the end of October). ;)

cya around,

Samker

P.S.

FYI, as usual, all Topics related to functioning of SCforum (like this one) I move to Feedback area.

DST In USA Timezones And In EU Countries Do Not Start And End In The Same Dates - They Are A Few Weeks Apart.

Thank You.

FYI, that happened because of our recent migration to new server which is located in different time zone (than previous one): http://scforum.info/index.php?topic=8415.msg21612#msg21612

Sorry for interruption.

Cheers!

S.
