Outraging Image of Nokia N94i with Windows Mobile
« on: 18. September 2007., 18:12:19 »
Could it be possible? Nokia leaving aside its own Series 60 operating system for Windows Mobile? That's
very unlikely to happen, although a leaked image suggests this possibility for the producer's N94i phone
model.

The image of this Nokia N94i comes from a Thai auction site that puts the prototype handset up for bidding. There is more shocking surprise coming from this picture. The mobile phone also comes equipped with a stylus, which is supposed to make it clear that it is actually a touchscreen enabled phone.

This is certainly a technology that the handset producer considers to use in its future products, but only on a long term, starting next year. At the recent Go Play event, Nokia declared that putting touch sensitivity in its products is something very possible, although not until next year.

The phone features pretty evolved specifications, although nothing else out of the ordinary. There is also a 2 megapixel camera included, along with an MP3 player capable of providing entertainment for the user. The handset also includes Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD card slot capable of storing a large amount of data on it. That sounds like pretty normal specifications, although nothing worthy of what Nokia's first touchscreen enabled phone would be.

The most plausible explication would be that this is in fact a fake image of the handset. Although it is Nokia branded on its front and back too and also features design features specific to this producer, it could very well be a Chinese replica. A very good one. The keypad also features some special characters that are not specific to Nokia phone models, which casts even more suspicion on how real the image is. Moreover, the possibility of this producer to leave its Series 60 operating system for Windows Mobile is incredibly low.
