extracting rar gives crc error/wrong password
« on: 31. August 2015., 12:09:56 »
I have downloaded the file multiple times and then entered the password correctly several times. It still gives me the error, why? The password works on my other computer…

Hi John and Welcome to SCF Community.

For the start, I need a few more information:

- which App(s) for archiving/compressing you use on PCs? Different?

Did you check for Hard Drive errors?

Try to copy the file you have on the machine where it does not work and copy it to the machine where it worked.

If it is giving the same issue then indeed the download on the machine is corrupt. Maybe a virus scanner is corrupting the file..

You may also want to use Recovery Toolbox for RAR was developed for extracting information from corrupted archives of the RAR format.
