Recent MalWare Failed To Screw XP Systems Because It Caused A BSOD - Can Anyone Confirm This ?

If The Most Recent MalWare Is No Longer Tested Against XP, The OS Can Only Become More Secure ( Than Other Most Recent Versions ) Over Time.

OUCH.

"To be clear, the Windows XP systems are vulnerable to ETERNALBLUE, but the exploit as implemented in WannaCry does not seem to reliably deploy DOUBLEPULSAR and achieve proper RCE, instead simply hard crashing our test machines," Kryptos said in a blog post. "The worst case scenario, and likely scenario, is that WannaCry caused many unexplained blue-screen-of-death crashes."

Windows XP PCs aren't completely immune to WannaCry (manually installing it will do the trick), but at the very least, the BSOD seems to get in the way of the ransomware doing its job locking up systems.

And I Love It.

In 12+ Years, I Have Collected Lots Of Hardware, Drivers And Other Software For It.

Any Time I Have A Problem, I Do Some Research ( Thank You, Team SCF, Too ) And I Get Around It.

I Use 3 Browsers And There Is Nothing, I Can Not Do, That Would Require Me To Give Any More Money To M$, Right Now.

Having A Dual Core Machine With 4GB Of RAM, Is All I Need As A Computer And A Media Center.

Old Standards Will Disappear, Sooner Or Later, But Those Kinds Of Changes Do Not Happen Overnight.

Several Times, I Have Moved My Main HDD To Other Machines/Motherboards, Without The Need To Reinstall The Whole OS/Applications - Only Making Some Minor Configuration Adjustments On Both.

This OS Is A Very Long Way From Being Dead, Yet - Knock On Wood.

Cheers.
